PRE-COVID - THE PAPER WAS MAILED TO 4000+ MAILBOXES IN MANITOBA AT A SHIPPING COST OF $2000 - $2500 per MONTH. THAT'S JUST SHIPPING. - In 2020 Covid hit the world and Blue Raven Design's office in Ashern, Manitoba closed, forcing The Around Town Paper to online only editions. No businesses open = no ads = no income.
THE AROUND TOWN PAPER - ONLINE READERSHIP GREW - During the global shutdown, we grew a huge online audience and a large subscription list. We continued to produce the paper weekly, if only to entertain people and keep them updated about Covid information. We never missed a week!
THE PANDEMIC ENDED - BUSINESSES NEEDED SUPPORT - Blue Raven Design decided that instead of shipping printed papers to a limited audience at such high costs, we would offer 100% of the profits of printing and sales to anyone in Manitoba. Those purchasing copies will be supporting local businesses.
